An actual tna ppv review!

Ok I usually don’t do TNA PPV thoughts, but this one created enough interest in me to actually care about TNA.

Anyway on with the blog

The main event confused me in a way, I understood the match, but not the movitvation behind it, what did Jarret have to gain from that match? He seems more focused on Foley and he didn’t really want the Championship. I originally thought that the winner would win the world championship plus any bonus with it, aka angle would pin Jarret, getting control of TNA. But that didn’t go down, instead it was a type of match were you went for the guy you wanted something from, which again confused me from the booking as Jarret took angle out, then sting pinned angle. Really a explanation into what they really wanted form the match would have made sense to me, but then again it’s TNA.

Anyway it went down the best way, with sting pinning angle and becoming the godfather of the MEM. Even though it’s a long shot, I hope they actually unite and in turn help push young guys to the top of the roster. Most the MEM are getting to the end of their careers. Not near retirement but near the end.

I think the monsters ball match lost huge value due to the build up and booking of this match. Monsters ball is never one on one and is always violent, and awesome (remember monsters ball 2005?) however that wasn’t. Shame on you TNA. The put it in wwe terms, it’s like letting Maryse and Kelly Kelly fight in a hell in a cell match, but the odd weapon thrown in. Even though I’m sounding like a SMARK (take that kick out!) it would of been awesome for maybe love and Kong to be thrown in, and the rest of the beautiful people, have a few more high spots, and have Kong put someone through a table, possible on fire or with tacks. That would have been awesome.

Ok TNA must be trying to get Daniels over as a sportsman’s like guy, after all that was a weird ending to that match don’t you think? (I’m starting a new drinking game; take a drink whenever you see a run in at a TNA event)

Logical ending for the I quit match with styles and booker t. With sharmell throwing in the towel. Means booker never gave up. Though if I know TNA (which I don’t) booker and sharmell will be feuding soon.

Beer money won, anyone beating up British people go in my good books.

Missed the knockout title match, I’m trying to work out if rasha turned on Kong? And if not when do you reckon she will?

Last of all but not the least, good opening bout. What was that? Their mid carders forever? thought it was still good.

Again drinking game (it could catch on at parties. I would be drunk within the hour)

late judgement thoughts

well it's almost a week later but who's counting

anyway I didnt catch the show (30 bucks?! are you kidding me?) but match wise it was intersting

it featured no gimmick matchs, in fact they were all straight one on one

so here's my thought's

umaga going over ounk made sense, umaga needed to be established again, and punk well... has what we call a mark against him. punk might go over him at extreme rules.

John morrsion is going over with his in ring ability, while miz get's over with promo's. if historys gives us any lessons. miz might actually beat morrsion to a world title (though if you count the ecw title.....)

rey and jerico, I'm looking forward to this lengthly fued

Christain heel turn? maybe.......

Cena wins, 4 people were surpised

the only thing that saved orton and batista was rick. go this feels stale

I'm really confused about were's this hardy fued is heading. maybe matt will only attack at PPV becuase that's were there in a same place at the same time. leading to a TLC match, hopefully

last thoughts, anyone notice all the good match's were from ecw/smackdown?

Monday night war!

it looks like that raw may be taking palce in Colorado Springs because its close to the pepis centre and its were smackdown/ecw tapings are being held the next night.

at the moment MSG and the staples centre have offered to host raw. but colorado looks set in

once again if you havn't heard the nuggets have kicked raw out of the aerna because thier playing a home final

a simlir thing happened here in australia when two rivial codes had a final booked at the same arena, it ended up the AFL team swans ending up being moved to the scg were they played a sold game which ended in a 2 point thirriler (NICK DAVIS!)

meanwhile the tigers played at the bigger aerna, and got less people to turn out then thier swans counterpart

back on wrestling

'my view' I would like them to go to MSG again, but money wise it would be smart to go to colorado. plus those who have already paid don't have to get a refund.

The dynamics of a main event push

While most people think that a main event status is picked up by a world title rein, it truly is not.

In fact there are several conditions that need to be fulfilled before a wrestler ‘goes over’

Let’s take two different wrestlers and compare.

When John Cena beat JBL for the world title, There were several factors contributed the the authenticity of his title rein.

One was a well built up feud between both JBL and Cena, two it was at a grand stage, that being Wrestlemaina, three was that Cena (being a face) won clean, and four was that the title change was worth more because JBL had a lengthy run with the title on Smackdown feuding with many different superstars. When Cena won it felt special and was a defining moment in him going over. furthermore in the aftermath of the feud Cena successfully beat JBL in a rematch and went over clean, he then went on to a lengthy rein which established him as a main eventer.

And now let’s compare him with Punk

Punk won his world championship in a match against edge, only after he cashed in his MITB briefcase when edge was beaten down by Batista. In the following months Punk would only win cleanly in a singles match a few times, while struggling to beat most of the top guys cleanly (most notable Batista and Jericho). he never got a main event at a PPV and at Summerslam was placed 4th from the main event. Furthermore punk never got pinned when he lost his title because he was taken out of the match. In the following month’s punk would have a brief feud with Orton and priceless before once again becoming mid card filler. well for now anyway. (lately he has received a good push)

The subject of the matter was when Punk won the title, sure it was a defining moment, but it wasn’t the defining one where he went over as a main event player, moreover WWE didn’t follow through with him and booked him as a champion who shouldn't be a champion. While punk was popular with the fans, he wasn’t over as well as he should of been. and instead of a rematch with edge, which would of proven his title win was not a fluke, Edge went back to Smackdown to feud with triple H.

The point I’m making is that a world title rein does not warrant main event status. It sure helps, but it is how you are booked that makes you go over, not a shiny gold strap around your waist (or shoulder what ever you prefer).

In conclusion the main reason I decided to write this was because of the treatment MVP is getting, he is hanging with the big guy’s at the moment, and when he eventually get’s his world title run hopefully he will go over a big money player, like hunter or Orton.

And that’s my thought’s for this week

its a bird, its a plane...

no its...

SUPER SHANE

yes super shane who has the power to defeat any number of heels in a night without actually haveing any real wrestling experence.

He takes after his father so well.

the point of the matter is, legacy should of destoryed him beyond when triple h destoryed tag team wrestling ( i think it happened in 2006). but now it made them look like real fools and when batista faces orton at judgement day, Fans are going to be confused when batista loses!

Oh i said it.

other thoughts

Miz is annoying, Matt hardy deserves not to be pinned cleanly and sanita should be shot

that's my quick thought's on the raw ep which has yet to air in Australia.

hey that made as much sense as shane winning a handicap match.
