thoughts on TNA V WWE and eddie fatu

wow what a week this is going to be

first of all the sad news that eddie fatu has passed away, its always a great shame when someone of his talent dies at such a young age, my wish's go out to his friends and family

and on another topic, hulk is really up to his tricks isn't he?

If you havn't heard already, TNA will be airing a 3 hour live show on... wait for it... MONDAY NIGHT.
no not this monday night, jan the third. anyway it is a huge risk for the company and hopefully (in my mind) it will pay off. only problem I have is that fact its IN THE BLOODY IMPACT ZONE!

well D day is 3/1, so lets rumor up people!

Difference in extreme

Dear readers

I had originally set out to write this article on the superiority of the new ECW over the old ECW, while I’m a fan of hardcore matches occasionally, I much prefer the technical ones as opposed to the brutality hat involves hardcore wrestling.

However while browsing the internet as I usually do, I came across an article in the SUN newspaper. The sun has a huge wrestling column, and often they would catch up with wrestlers and have exclusive interviews, this one however was one with Rob Vam Dam

Rob Vam Dam describes how his heart was torn out by Vince when he changed the original ECW to the old ECW, showing disrespect to a cult which was still going. And as I continued reading I began to realise something.

As Jericho would say, both ECW’s where the best at what they do.

Sure there two completely different versions of each other, but the core elements of what they strive to achieve remains the same.

The old ECW was about being different, they weren’t mainstream, they didn’t care about what you think or who they offended, they just did what they wanted, and got a cult like following. They brought Lucha Libra to the states, they were the catalyst for the attitude era, they invaded Monday night RAW, and most of all were a footstep for future superstars, such as stone cold, Mick Foley, Eddie, Rey, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho.

The original ECW was something that could possibly be never seen again, a once in a life time promotion which just happened to come to fruition at the right place at the right time.

And then we have the new ECW, the stress relief if someone gets pissed on the internet.

Look people the new ECW may not be like the old one, but it still is a dam good product. We get every week a mixture of veterans and new superstars in matches which are usually high in quality. Why are they usually high? Because WWE can give away these matches without having to worry about putting it on PPV. After all it gets a third of the rating RAW gets. So why not?

The new ECW is always a great watch (minus the Abraham show) and really it only targets a certain audience anyway, much like the old ECW, expect this time it’s for those who have the great love of a good technical match.

So while the new ECW may be a family friendly place, it is currently the best at what it does, it may not be the old ECW, but it’s moved on from that. Hardcore wrestling isn’t for everyone, WWE is about pleasing the masses, and unfortunately that’s where ECW had to move on to. Where in the family friendly era of WWE and the old ECW style would be out of place.

However that saying the ECW still embodies the spirit of the old, veterans getting a second wind, news talent looking for a break, matches that are borderless

And that my friends, is extreme.

sorry to be the buzz kill

hey the title of the website is wrestling BLOG

Anywho I’m here today to put down the buzz surronding Hulk Hogan and TNA.
but first lets see what PWI have to say about this to futher my point first
By Frank Ingiosi

Alright. Let’s start out this week’s edition of “The Turn” with a little game. Everyone who didn’t have the worst and most publicly humiliating week in the industry, take one giant step forward. Not so fast, Jeff Jarrett.

Wow. Wowy, wow, wow, wow. Soooo … who saw that one coming? I will readily admit that I was certainly not expecting TNA to Mahoney-up and make, easily, the biggest move in company history on a down week in October. But, alas, the legend of legends Hulk Hogan now calls the Impact Zone his home away from home, and he’ll be bringing perennial houseguest Eric Bischoff with him.

No way this can fail, right? I mean, Hogan has never been known to allow his infinitely expanding ego to disrupt a promotion. No, if there’s one man who puts the good of the organization ahead of his own, it’s Hogan.

Sarcasm aside, my first instinct when I heard the news was to quit giving TNA CPR and call the time of death, but that seemed too easy. While the odds may be stacked against a Hogan-Bischoff led (oh, and don’t let “reports” fool you—they’ll be in charge) TNA winning over enough fans to reach WWE levels, I’m not ready to pronounce the organization as WCW-lite. In fact, Hogan coming back to wrestling could be the best thing that ever happened to jackasses like me.

It’s one thing to kill TNA on a weekly basis for not making the most of its situation or allowing the same guys to trot out to the ring and give the same schlocky promos; add Hogan to that situation and it basically sets me up for years to come. Hell, I started a college savings fund the day TNA announced Hogan’s signing because I knew TNA would keep me knee deep in topics.

For example, what is the current line on how long it takes Hogan to win the TNA World title? My guess is that he’s there three months before capturing the gold. Another thing to look forward to is the first “major acquisition” Hogan helps bring in (we’re betting on Ken Anderson), as well as the first, former “major acquisition” to hit the bricks.

A Hogan-run TNA promises not only controversy each and every week, but hours of head-scratching storylines and angles. Hell, I am genuinely excited to see where this goes.

Oh, please don’t confuse my excitement with an endorsement of the move. Dear God, no, I don’t think it’s a good idea in the least and I’m certainly not a fan of Hogan, Bischoff, or Kevin Arnold’s big brother Jason Hervey. All three disappoint me in ways that I could not possibly fit into a 1,000-word column. I’m looking at this through the eyes of an auto racing fan: a phenomenal crash is far, far more entertaining than a safe victory.

As I alluded to in the opening, it’s easy to think that Jeff Jarrett is having the worst week of anyone in the business right now. After everything he gave to TNA over the years, to have the higher-ups bring in Hogan and Bischoff at a time where he is persona non grata around the arena has to be devastating. With no other options in the industry aside from TNA, what choice does Jarrett have other than to stay the course and try to work his way back into Dixie Carter’s good graces? That, my friends, is the essence of the 1990s expression, “Sucks to be you.”

In the end, I applaud TNA for going so far against the grain that it likely ended the company’s viability before it ever really took foot. Plus, I want to thank them for giving me a front-row seat to the slow and glorious demise of the organization’s credibility; an organization, mind you, that once called Adam “Pacman” Jones a champion.

I thank you, my kid’s future university thanks you, and fans around the world thank you, TNA.

ok people read it? mad yet? pepare to get madder smarky

look as much as people would love to go back to the monday night wars… it’s not going to happen. period.

TNA isn’t declaring war against WWE, they arn’t bringing in stone cold steve austin, and they certainly are not just letting Eric and hogan promote (I give hogan 2 months before being champ. the 2 months starting once he debuts in the 6 sided ring), They are simply trying to cash in on a publcity gold mine.

And about that second show? sure we would all love for another 2 hour show to run up against RAW, but that’s a long way away, no people it’s more likly to be a ECW type of show, 1 hour and most likly an all knockout show.

hell why put up a second show against RAW if the first one cannot even get above 2.0 in ratings?! raw always does 3-4, so why whould in good sense, spike allow TNA to put one up?
the only reason I can think of is so when people don’t like what they see on RAW, or a commerical they change the channel, and then instanly remember why they watch RAW. (oh snap)

look the point I am making is that people shouldn’t start these rumers or jump to conculsions, TNA is a long long long way away from ever being considered competition for WWE, but I’m sure one day they will make it, or we will see them on wwe mobile in 5 years.

Hulkamaina update and bound for glory card

Sources are me because this info all came from tv.

Anyway hulk hogan was doing the rounds on TV and the Papers. quote 'wwe have this mindset to push young guys even though fans want to see hulk hogan. thats why I'm doing this tour' he also said on the kerry ain show that he was surpised at Aussies fans reaction to him and how he is really pumped for this show

Oh and the Flair v hogan bout is only for sydney. go me

TNA aired an add for BFG saying the following matchs were occuring

Sting V A J Styles

Matt Morgan V Kurt Angle

Joe V Lashly

and Mick Foley V Abyss in a monsters ball match

I espcially look forward to that last part, will it top Monsters ball 2005? or have the aftertaste which was sabu and funk in which heyman stated 'that was to extreme for ECW'. Money on the last part.

Breaking point thoughts

Well it was Canada people.....

Anyway I didn't catch the show (30 bucks for an ppv? I'd rather spend it on paintball) so here are my thoughts about the actually result of each match

Jerishow defeated MVP/ Mark henry

Meh, Jerishow need a long title run to improve the Division, but here's a thought for ya, if your not going to do anything with jimmy wang yang and toshi, put them together and they can be your jobber team! come on it's not like thier going to beat anyone anytime soon.....

Kane V Kahli

who cares?

Legacy defeated DX

Great move, Legacy scored the biggist win of thier carrers so far, and I hope they can perform one hell of a bout at HIAC

Christain defeated regal

One statement. Regalplex= broken neck, how is that so not a finsher?

Cena defeated Orton in a I quit match

I'm sure this was the only way they could of gone with this, thier was no way in hell that Cena was going to say I Quit. I see Cena retaining at HIAC.

Punk defeated Undertaker

ahhh memories, Though it was cheap, it was a great way for punk to keep the title and taker not tap out.

well those are my twitter like thoughts..... see ya in 4 weeks when I can be bothered

jeff hardy............

source – kevin eck/bailtmore sun (i know copy and paste but hey least its not a rumer)

Jeff Hardy has been arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steriods, according to a report on thepilot.com.

A search of Hardy’s home in Cameron, N.C., yielded significant quantities of Vicodin and Soma prescription pills, anabolic steroids and a residual amount of cocaine. He was charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $125,000.

wow. i’ll keep my judgement untill the statement comes out, but for now I’m in shock, what if he had resigned with WWE? one thing for sure he anit coming back any time soon.

hogan v flair... down under?

A media report form Eric and hogan stated they were coming down for a tour in November. they have booked the same venues as wwe

whats more intersting is that they are trying to get flair to come back. This is big news for the wrestling industry in Australia, not only did TNA annouce thier tour next feb, but now we have another promotion touring as well. usally Australain fans have one wwe show a year.

though I won't be going, to 50 year olds wrestling? please I'd rather watch TNA

Love is gone....

If you don't know already, Angliene Love has been let go from her contract due to visa issues. Because her work visa expired, TNA cannot legally hire her.

Not only is this a huge loss for thier division but screws up TNA women tourment. as TBP was suppose to make it to the finals, and TNA have already taped Impact up to the next PPV.

It should be intersting how TNA take this....

Summerslam preview

This really isn't a match by match preview or blog

rather my thoughts on how the placement of matchs on the card generally determines the outcome.

Anyway there are 4 match's in my view which can be infulenced by thier placement on the card of summerslam. let's start with the ECW title match

Simply put, the idealogy that WWE has been using for the last couple of ppvs, is that the opener has to be a strong match, with (usally no always) a baby face win to get the crowd rolling. If the ECW title match was to start first, I would say that Chistain would win, factoring in that this fued has been going on for about 2 weeks. however if it doesn't start first, there's a strong possbility that regal could escape with the title with some help from jackson.

Same thing said with the intercontional match. Zigger is most likly to win, but Rey could pull out the win if slated to go on first. though MVP and Swagger could go on first but who cares. (they screwed both thier push's up)

ok even though there is no way in hell that Cena V Orton could go on after TLC, you have to wonder weather or not WWE will give us another bullshit ending to a orton match. but considering how cena's been booked latly, really wouldn't surpise me if he won, or orton got DQ.

TLC. should be a classic match. Punk should win but hardy (one of them) get's revenge on punk after match and sends the crowd home happy. again classic\

well thats it once again from me (minus spell check)

When my TAFE course meet's wrestling.....

During my TAFE course our latest subject happens to be customer service

That being one topic in it being market research. I quote

'an successful company will constantly have market research in order to adapt to any changes that may affect their standards, much like when the Japanese surprised the American car industry with a cheaper, more effect working car'

Now how does this apply to wrestling?

Simple. The PG rating

Vince is a wrestling genius, and while a lot of people do not like this trend in WWE, it's actually a good move by them. This being why

The Attitude era was considered the golden days of wrestling (ratings wise) and compared to now days, it was much more... adult, in that sense blood sport. Now as the shock value decreases among fans they start to tune out, slowly but surely. And what company should come along to offer an alternative to the current product? One that can fill the blood firsty nature of these fans?

No not TNA. UFC my friends, UFC

UFC has rapidly established itself as a brutal sport, one in which can state "some ones going to get hurt"

So here we have WWE, slowly but surely sliding in the ratings, and what does Vince do? He recognises the changing market, and start's appealing to a different audience. That being said. Kids.

Kids, annoying filthy little things that drive parents to the point where they hand over their hard earn cash to just keep their kids happy. Kids who are so easily manipulated by storylines (good and evil ones) and will cheer and boo anyone their told to. Kids who... well one day become true wrestling fanatics and start this cycle over again.

Vince has been able to change the product in a way so that he is not only appealing to a new audience, but grabbing new fans for life, ones that will always be loyal to the brand, and be able to buy the product. This is what makes WWE so successful. And makes other companies (cough tna cough) insignificant.

I'm not saying that all grown fans are bloodthirsty males. And I'm not saying that all kids are dumb. The point I'm just trying to make is that WWE have recognised a change, and have adapted to it, they have evolved once again.

It's a bird.. its a plane!

No it's John Cena!

That's right folks step right up and see this generation's hulk hogan run wild over everyone! see him beat a guy with 4 move's.. or destory the entire undercard of heel's in 2o min!

Ok ok little harsh from me (and as razor would put it 'smarkness') but come on, I like the man but I don't think it was the right idea to do that, does WWE really want half the crowd to start booing him again, I meanthe jeering has gone down, but only because they made him... human.

Though this does have one little bright side. The miz can really shine now on smackdown. ECW is heavy on heels so Miz would make a great expecation into Smackdown. After all they do need a new single's heel after Jerico teamed up with show. Miz could really pull a number.

What's your thought's IC?

Night of Champs

I actually caught this PPV... and I was very happy at the result, the night was full of good match's, with a great win for jeff hardy at the end to cap it of. here's my thoughts per match

UTB big show and jerico defeated legacy

wow my first thought was 'what big show? bullshit' but then it hit me, this is perfect. he was doing nothing at the moment, and it will mean more when a babyface team beats them for the title. anyway the match itself would of been great if legacy were a babyface team. instead the crowd cheered for jerico and it was a decent match.

ECW champ- christain defeated tommy dreamer.

this was a great match. and the philly crowd were behind both superstars(dreamer got one hell of a ecw chant). christain winning wasn't a surpise. expect a extreme rules match at summerslam

6 pack for the US title- kofi retained

spot fest anyone? great match again, boy I'm praying for carito v primo v kofi v evan bourne. just how epic would that be. anyway great match primo replaced big show so the match itself had some pace behind it. carlito backstabed he's brother at the end of the match after they were working together, which I thought was a good way to continue thier fued. overall well done guys.

womens championship match- mchool defeated melina

this was a werid match, lots of new moves from melina, gaining control of the match only for mchool to trap melina in a pin

triple threat match for the wwe champ- orton defeated cena and triple h

wow. this was awsome. great action, well paced, and each spot was well done. prton tapping out to both hhh and cena was well done, and even legacy interfereing made sense. again great match

divas match- micky james defeated maryse

I should metion before the awsome promo from the miz to maryse backstage before this, but go look it up on youtube. anyway it was hard to follow the prevoius bout so it wasn't really that good. but micky desevered that win. so I'm happy

intercontional match- rey defeated zigger

great recap promo before the match, made zigger look like a million bucks. and the match was great to. zigger is a star on the rise, just don't push him to fast

WHC- jeff hardy defeated cm punk

earlier in the night cm punk came out and cut one hell of a promo, which makes me think how he wasn't discovered any sooner. anyway great match, only problem was the ending sequence which felt deflated. anyway should be intersting for the next few weeks with jeffs contract and all

Raw's main event

At this moment in time, RAW has about 4 real main event players.

John Cena, Triple H, Randy Orton and the Big Show.

And while you have a great supporting cast that are ready to make that jump to main event status (Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, MVP, Miz) there just not at that level yet when you can say “wow that guy is going to beat (insert main event name) for the title!

The point I’m trying to put over is that WWE has reached a dilemma. While the main event players on RAW at the moment at the biggest draws in the company, their feuds between each other don’t seem as fresh as some other show’s are producing at the moment. Sure Cena and Orton again could last a few PPV if done right, but relatively we have seen it all before.

Moreover these wrestler’s are needed in the main spotlight to ensure that their merchandising and name value is kept up. Keeping these players’s in the main event scene is usually good for business. So this usually means that the mid card have to push themselves up onto the scene. It’s been done before, but usually main event status is only really given after a win over another main event wrestler. And with only 4 on Raw that are healthy, this could be seen as a problem due to lack of time/ space.

So what’s a solution? We’ll WWE invented it last year, which helped produce Jeff hardy as a main event player.

The scramble match

Yes we all know about this type of match, but lest we remember back at unforgivin last year were Smackdown only had 4 main event players. One was injured and the other was just coming back from injury, and one was just doing nothing.

So what does WWE do? They take 4 prospect superstars, throw them into a match with their biggest star Triple H, and watch what emerges.

Sure hardy was the only one to really prosper out of that match, but in that sense, that match alone created 6 months of storylines. It helps the long build up to Jeff’s title win, and kept the title scene fresh.

So while at the moment you can’t see any type of scramble match happening to soon. Be sure WWE has something cooking up there selves when it comes evaluating. Because sooner or later there going to have to.

(The following was 100% smarkness. If experiencing any symptoms of ‘smark hatred’...... go f*ck yourself)

sydney house show...

I was at the RAW house show in Sydney on the 4th of July. And while they set a new record of people at Acer arena..... They left me feeling robbed

Here’s how it went down

Chavo v Goldust

I was ok with this being first... at the time. These two don't get to wrestle on TV much so it was weird watching them go at it. They really stalled all during the match, though Chavo did play at the crowd so he could get booed. And good old horny at the end distracted Chavo long enough so that Goldust could hit his finisher.

Overall 6 stars

Shamus v noble

Two things. One isn't shamus on ECW? And two, where in the world has noble been. Apart from the main event this was the best match of the night. Shamus had just cut a promo insulting the states football team, saying that he is their new hero. Pretty good promo actually, and awesome theme song. These two chained wrestled, with noble playing smart by taking the big guy down, then shamus to power out and use his size advantage. In the end shamus hit his finisher which was just sicking.

Overall 7.5 stars

Santino v Brain

If you saw superstars last Thursday you didn't miss much, however because it isn't shown here, we got this match. It was ok, Santino was stalling half the time, and TBK was just... himself. It was ok match but the crowd was starting to get bored.

Overall 6 stars

Miz V MVP.

Miz got on the mic and cut a good promo which gained a lot of heat. He's right you know. He is awesome. Anyway it was an ok match. Could have been better. Miz got the win after removing the pad form the turnbuckle and MVP going straight into it.

Another note, every heel so far has tried insulting certain parts of the crowd. And as the night drew on it was getting old. Expect Cody nearly started a fight.

Anyway overall 5.5

Kofi V regal

Worst match of the night by far, 80% of the match was rest holds, this was really bad. Worst than kahli wrestling (that’s right, I said it). Hope these two never see each other again.

Overall 2.

Intermission

Tag match legacy V colons'

This was a good tag match, don't like legacy's new music though. Anyway colons did the usually stuff, but in the end legacy won.

Overall 7

Divas match- Maryse V Kelly Kelly

Earlier Mickey James awarded a family way up in the heavens ring side seats, soooooo we get Mickey on the mic, while Kelly Kelly and Maryse wrestle...... WTF?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE GLAMZON, MICKY JAMES, ROSA AND GAIL KIM? GOD DAM IT IF I WANTED TO SEE TWO BLONDE MODELS GRAPPLE EACH OTHER I WOULD JUST HEAD DOWN TO KINGS CROSS!(Sydney’s red light district) oh well Maryse won..... But I wasn't paying attention to the match.

Overall 4D.

Main event tag match. Randy Orton and big show v Cena and triple h

This was actually good. Though it was a TV quality match, it had that house show ending. Cena FU (oh sorry attuide adjustment) the big show then trip's finshing him of him. Orton ran away and that was it. Yep got my money's worth...........

Overall 7

Conclusion

Overall the show quality was poor, two good matches, on serviceable, and the rest ether ok or poor.

Won’t be seeing RAW again.
.

Ok I lied, but it's not like TNA is touring ant time soon.

Well another draft....

well ok RAW and ECW really needed the shakeup.... and smackdown actually benfited from it to.

Smackdown gained the hart dynasty, matt hardy (another hardy boyz fued?) and finlay. and lost wrestlers they really didn't need (well gail kim was jobbing and who gives a rats arse about whatshername?). ECW gained alot of 'lost in the shuffle guys' such as Shelton and regal. And futhermore RAW gained evan broune, jack swagger, mark henry and gail kim, all possible for a main event (if there were room).

So even though I've forgot a few wrestlers.... this shakeup was well needed. espically for RAW (which I'm seeing this weekend...)

Ps gail kim v micky james? 5 words, female match of the year.

smackdown thoughts

I actually caught the show this week, and it was good. Very good. Not much else to say there really...

Ok I knew something was up if Vince was on Smackdown, actually seeing Vince on this show it did actually feel like the B grade show because it was such a surprise. There’s wwe marketing again... anyway Vince is heel again (shock!) and he took teddy long along for a ride..... Anyway wwe are going somewhere with this... most likely we will find out at the bash.

I liked the fact that R truth made his entrance as Vince was leaving (come on Vince what’s up?). Anyway quality match between Shelton and truth. If only Shelton could cut a promo he would be a champ by now.

I think I passed out after seeing that cryme tyme promo.... I think I’ll take santina back.

Wow did not see that coming... did john Morrison just pin the world champion? Must mean taker’s gone for a lot longer than we thought if there’ve pushing Morrison like that. But he did get suckered into that GTS, which made punk look strong and kept the heel tweener going. Oh and I remember there feud over the ECW championship, there final match in that feud was a classic. I hope they can pull another one off eventually in a PPV.

Wow, Gail Kim is just... wow her moves are amazing, and the finish to that match was quite good, with robo McCool getting the pin after blind tagging in.

Crushing the competition hey punk? I wonder who thought of that line...

Rage in the cage, that was simply awesome. I liked the fact they took a basic tag match and put a steel cage around them. It allowed for bigger moves, oh and that 619 of hardy onto Jericho were insane. Punk finished the night playing mind games with hardy, getting the crowd to cheer for him. Great stuff.

Well I wrote this at 12 at night so yerrr.

fallout from tna

After hearing what happened at thier last PPV, I'm actually shocked

Joe, who has had a heated past with angle, who said he was going to kill the main event mafia.... helped... yes HELPED Angle win the TNA championship. then the MEM celebrated with him..

I'm confused though

If this explains itself well on thursday (actually saturday for me) then this could be a huge turning point in TNA history (get the pun?).

If russle writes the segment.... well goodbye TNA

anyway its a huge risk and I hope it turns out well. kevin eck wrote a good story on what can happen, the link to his page is on the side of my blog

on another note... here's a shout out to razor at http://kickoutwrestling.blogspot.com he updates alot and has a weekly podcast which I do think you should check out. oh and don't metion that your a smark...... I'm just saying

wrestlemaina 23

this was my first wrestlemaina, I had only been watching wrestling for 3 months

yet I bought my second wrestling PPV due to sheer exictment. why? battle of the billonares was on! actually I bought it to see shawn win the title and undertaker beat batista.

yet people think it was trump and vince that brought in the dough

look I wasn't very wisewith wreslting back then and every time someone was playing an injury I belived them

however the build up to wrestlemaina for me was fantastic

for someone who had only been watching wrestling for three month's to fork out 30 bucks for a PPV, WWE did a boodly good job.

reason? I belive it was that the build up started at the ROYAL RUMBLE and not at the bloody NWO PPV like the last two years

shawn and cena was built very well, and I was fearing that batista was going to beat the streak (which to that point I had never heard of)

the money in the bank match was awsome(which turned me into a hardcore fan, reason for looking a vintage ECW and even melina v ashley looked good. oh the match wasn't half bad ethier.

kane and kalhi looked like a epic battle, but for me MVP looked like he was gonna get destoryed by Chris(which he did).

my point I'm rasing that is vince and trump didn't sell wrestlemaina for me, what made me by ti was the build up to it form the world titles. not the showcase

though trump is always good for business.

where do I begin?

well the hangover from extreme rules seem's to be bigger than last years one.

I'll start with Hardy

he hurt his shoulder during the match with edge and broke his finger.. this of thetop of my head is his first real injury, unless someone knows something I don't.

punk cashing in his MITB case was good, and I hope he does turn heel. the contrasting styles between hardy and punk should make one hell of a fued.

batista was injuryed BEFORE his match sunday, which explains why the match was so short, but dosen; explain why they out the belt on him. he's not expected to take alot of time of as its a result from wear and tear.

last of all but not the least, umaga was fired. I don't know anything about that yet, but it does explain his back to back loses against punk. it comes as a shock as he was one of the most solid midcarders.

where do I begin?

well the hangover from extreme rules seem's to be bigger than last years one.

I'll start with Hardy

he hurt his shoulder during the match with edge and broke his finger.. this of thetop of my head is his first real injury, unless someone knows something I don't.

punk cashing in his MITB case was good, and I hope he does turn heel. the contrasting styles between hardy and punk should make one hell of a fued.

extreme rules

I'm not going to lie, I'm gonna cry if dreamer loses.

anyway onto the errrrr blog. if you can call it that

hog pen match

no one wins from this, I hope to god the crowd boos them off worse then when they booed goldberg and brock lesnar. One can hope

Fatal Four Way. Matt Hardy v Regal v Kofi v MVP

I like the fact they added this match, and because of the no DQ rules. I fully expect Matt to use he's cast and regal to use his brass knuckles. expect a miss comunication between hardy and regal allowing kofi to win.

Strap match

the rubber match between punk and umaga. punk has that MITB so I do expect him to win. oh and just for RAZOR, punks in the dog house.

Submission match Cena V Big Show

Show wins, why? because in four weeks time thier booked for a house show in sydney were they face of one on one. and house shows (main event booking anyway) tends to follow storylines, so I'm guess the fued is going on. though my gut is saying cena will win.

Steel Cage Match Orton V Batista

this will be slow and painful. though I'm sure they could defie the critics and pull a classic of. gut feeling aslo say's triple h may return. Again he's booked for the house show.

Ladder match Hardy - Edge

Match on the night. This will be on last, and I have no idea who will win, though edge seems the likly choice.

Triple Threat Dreamer v Christain v Swagger

This should be a great old School match. two ways this could go down, one with dreamer getting screwed, or with dreamer finally winning. I'm leaning towards Dreamer getting screwed. But how's this, Dreamer wins, Christain then gets a rematch then and there, swagger screws him over and dreamer leaves without the belt. tech he's won it, but he didn't take it away with him
ethier way it should be great

well thats all, Ill be getting this PPV so ha to you americans who have to pay double the price we Aussies do (mahahahaha)

An actual tna ppv review!

Ok I usually don’t do TNA PPV thoughts, but this one created enough interest in me to actually care about TNA.

Anyway on with the blog

The main event confused me in a way, I understood the match, but not the movitvation behind it, what did Jarret have to gain from that match? He seems more focused on Foley and he didn’t really want the Championship. I originally thought that the winner would win the world championship plus any bonus with it, aka angle would pin Jarret, getting control of TNA. But that didn’t go down, instead it was a type of match were you went for the guy you wanted something from, which again confused me from the booking as Jarret took angle out, then sting pinned angle. Really a explanation into what they really wanted form the match would have made sense to me, but then again it’s TNA.

Anyway it went down the best way, with sting pinning angle and becoming the godfather of the MEM. Even though it’s a long shot, I hope they actually unite and in turn help push young guys to the top of the roster. Most the MEM are getting to the end of their careers. Not near retirement but near the end.

I think the monsters ball match lost huge value due to the build up and booking of this match. Monsters ball is never one on one and is always violent, and awesome (remember monsters ball 2005?) however that wasn’t. Shame on you TNA. The put it in wwe terms, it’s like letting Maryse and Kelly Kelly fight in a hell in a cell match, but the odd weapon thrown in. Even though I’m sounding like a SMARK (take that kick out!) it would of been awesome for maybe love and Kong to be thrown in, and the rest of the beautiful people, have a few more high spots, and have Kong put someone through a table, possible on fire or with tacks. That would have been awesome.

Ok TNA must be trying to get Daniels over as a sportsman’s like guy, after all that was a weird ending to that match don’t you think? (I’m starting a new drinking game; take a drink whenever you see a run in at a TNA event)

Logical ending for the I quit match with styles and booker t. With sharmell throwing in the towel. Means booker never gave up. Though if I know TNA (which I don’t) booker and sharmell will be feuding soon.

Beer money won, anyone beating up British people go in my good books.

Missed the knockout title match, I’m trying to work out if rasha turned on Kong? And if not when do you reckon she will?

Last of all but not the least, good opening bout. What was that? Their mid carders forever? thought it was still good.

Again drinking game (it could catch on at parties. I would be drunk within the hour)

late judgement thoughts

well it's almost a week later but who's counting

anyway I didnt catch the show (30 bucks?! are you kidding me?) but match wise it was intersting

it featured no gimmick matchs, in fact they were all straight one on one

so here's my thought's

umaga going over ounk made sense, umaga needed to be established again, and punk well... has what we call a mark against him. punk might go over him at extreme rules.

John morrsion is going over with his in ring ability, while miz get's over with promo's. if historys gives us any lessons. miz might actually beat morrsion to a world title (though if you count the ecw title.....)

rey and jerico, I'm looking forward to this lengthly fued

Christain heel turn? maybe.......

Cena wins, 4 people were surpised

the only thing that saved orton and batista was rick. go this feels stale

I'm really confused about were's this hardy fued is heading. maybe matt will only attack at PPV becuase that's were there in a same place at the same time. leading to a TLC match, hopefully

last thoughts, anyone notice all the good match's were from ecw/smackdown?

Monday night war!

it looks like that raw may be taking palce in Colorado Springs because its close to the pepis centre and its were smackdown/ecw tapings are being held the next night.

at the moment MSG and the staples centre have offered to host raw. but colorado looks set in

once again if you havn't heard the nuggets have kicked raw out of the aerna because thier playing a home final

a simlir thing happened here in australia when two rivial codes had a final booked at the same arena, it ended up the AFL team swans ending up being moved to the scg were they played a sold game which ended in a 2 point thirriler (NICK DAVIS!)

meanwhile the tigers played at the bigger aerna, and got less people to turn out then thier swans counterpart

back on wrestling

'my view' I would like them to go to MSG again, but money wise it would be smart to go to colorado. plus those who have already paid don't have to get a refund.

The dynamics of a main event push

While most people think that a main event status is picked up by a world title rein, it truly is not.

In fact there are several conditions that need to be fulfilled before a wrestler ‘goes over’

Let’s take two different wrestlers and compare.

When John Cena beat JBL for the world title, There were several factors contributed the the authenticity of his title rein.

One was a well built up feud between both JBL and Cena, two it was at a grand stage, that being Wrestlemaina, three was that Cena (being a face) won clean, and four was that the title change was worth more because JBL had a lengthy run with the title on Smackdown feuding with many different superstars. When Cena won it felt special and was a defining moment in him going over. furthermore in the aftermath of the feud Cena successfully beat JBL in a rematch and went over clean, he then went on to a lengthy rein which established him as a main eventer.

And now let’s compare him with Punk

Punk won his world championship in a match against edge, only after he cashed in his MITB briefcase when edge was beaten down by Batista. In the following months Punk would only win cleanly in a singles match a few times, while struggling to beat most of the top guys cleanly (most notable Batista and Jericho). he never got a main event at a PPV and at Summerslam was placed 4th from the main event. Furthermore punk never got pinned when he lost his title because he was taken out of the match. In the following month’s punk would have a brief feud with Orton and priceless before once again becoming mid card filler. well for now anyway. (lately he has received a good push)

The subject of the matter was when Punk won the title, sure it was a defining moment, but it wasn’t the defining one where he went over as a main event player, moreover WWE didn’t follow through with him and booked him as a champion who shouldn't be a champion. While punk was popular with the fans, he wasn’t over as well as he should of been. and instead of a rematch with edge, which would of proven his title win was not a fluke, Edge went back to Smackdown to feud with triple H.

The point I’m making is that a world title rein does not warrant main event status. It sure helps, but it is how you are booked that makes you go over, not a shiny gold strap around your waist (or shoulder what ever you prefer).

In conclusion the main reason I decided to write this was because of the treatment MVP is getting, he is hanging with the big guy’s at the moment, and when he eventually get’s his world title run hopefully he will go over a big money player, like hunter or Orton.

And that’s my thought’s for this week

its a bird, its a plane...

no its...

SUPER SHANE

yes super shane who has the power to defeat any number of heels in a night without actually haveing any real wrestling experence.

He takes after his father so well.

the point of the matter is, legacy should of destoryed him beyond when triple h destoryed tag team wrestling ( i think it happened in 2006). but now it made them look like real fools and when batista faces orton at judgement day, Fans are going to be confused when batista loses!

Oh i said it.

other thoughts

Miz is annoying, Matt hardy deserves not to be pinned cleanly and sanita should be shot

that's my quick thought's on the raw ep which has yet to air in Australia.

hey that made as much sense as shane winning a handicap match.

quick thoughts on backlash

I will be posting my full thoguths on backlash tomorrow hopefully

anyway it was ethier big show or punk that whoiuld interfere so it was predictable

predictable outcome for orton

christain winnning was a nice touch

why did kane go over punk?

Sunday, April 19, 2009

well if you don't like it why do you watch it?

Ok now to get something of my chest

As part of the 'hated' internet community in wrestling we constantly praise and lately criticize wrestling in its current state

Let's face it apart from a few things’ overall it isn’t what it used to be

But I put this to you, RAW still rates at about 4 average, ECW and TNA at 1.3 and Smackdown at 2-3.

So if it is so bad why do people and more importantly you, the person reading this watch it still?

Has wrestling gotten into such a state where no matter how bad and ridiculous one company get's, we would still fork out money to buy PPV?

Is it so bad that the alternate is just a overhyped version of heat?

Is it so bad that the same guy who has dominated for the last ten years will dominate for the next ten because of the company's lack of vision? (I swear that guy must be married to the boss's daughter or something)

But simply we have become so addicted to wrestling, so addicted to the hype, the build up, a promise that one day it will enter the glory day's again, we feast on whatever bread crumbles come are way

To people who say it sucks, simple don't watch it, don't buy its PPV’s, don't go to live shows, just don't. Your only helping this continues.

I know some of these statements are false, but who gives a flying f*ck.

I don't practice what I preach, in fact I only find out the results online now day’s and if I hear there was a good match, I'll go on YouTube.

We can only hope can we, after all were sending Vince insane.

Draft thoughts

Here are myquick thought's about the draft

I was right about Kane going to smackdown, and jerico, smackdown is now my number one show after edge wins at backlash.

triple h going to raw was predictable. now that all the money player's are on RAW, I wouldn't want to be that mid card. trip's is gonna bury them harder than when he buried test....(to soon?)

great i thought ECW couldn't get any worse, but wwe proved me wrong again by sending that big russain guy thingy there. ok I don't remeber his name but does anyone? let alone his match's?

poor poor matt, good luck trying to get a push, your stuck on raw with MVP now. take as both a good and bad thing.

ken to retire?

In a recent interview ken kenndy (yes I can't spell his name) said that his shoulder injury might force him to retire earlier han planed and make hima trainer.

For this industry it is a real shame, he had one hell of a bright future and would of already been a world champion if not for a docter's mistake.

On a brighter note though maybe he could become a commentor, god know's how long josh matthew's will last before he is kicked of. He whould make a great heel commentar.

I hope he get's better, it be a real shame for him to quit the ring.

post your thought's if you dare

quick wresltemaina thoughts

well that main event was shitter than the great kahli wreslting, no wait nothing is that shit

but really that main event was bad, good spots but the ending was well... boring. plus triple h came out so domintant it seems to have buried orton when it was his time to shine and take over the mantal

shawn and taker lived to the hype, that's all I'm saying

as soon as cena won I knew triple h was winning. cena deserves it though

JBL qutting was well done. wait, the joker, him rich, omg i get it

JBL is the batman!

matt finally got the win he deserves, but it feel's like this fued could be carried on. hopefully

the legends match was what we though, but suprisliny good after steamboat came out.

santina was the only thing good about that battle royal, kid rock needs to be shot

punk won the money in the bank again, wouldn't surpise me if he didn't cash it in succesfully

what happened to the tag match? what unfiing the title's isn't important enougth for the main show?

One week to go

One week from maina....

Anyway a penny for my thoughts...

The hardy boy feud is set to end at Wrestlemaina according to a former creative team employer. Due to the fact it is a gimmick match and there’s a draft just 2 week’s out from Wrestlemaina, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the hardy boy’s got sent to RAW, possible Jeff.

Big show looked to be the original winner of the money in the bank, if that was to happen he would be the first former world champion to win one. Should note the only reason he is in the triple treat is because they feel they’ve used Edge v Cena to much... so Triple h and Orton hasn’t been overdone yet?

It seems Vince has another reason to boost RAW, he wants’ to totally screw Smackdown for Michael Hayes.

While we’re on Vince it turns out he watch’s TNA. That brings there total viewership up to 26.

Anyway turns out I’m working next Monday so no live blog for you people. However I will post a reaction to it as soon as I find out the results/watch the replay.

wresltemaina prediction

Well as Wrestlemaina is made official we come to ponder who will be taking a win on the grandest stage of them all. And while only Vince knows the answer to that, I’ll have some fun by making my own predictions.

Let’s count down from the card

MITB

Well I already posted a blog about this but in shot MVP to win followed by Shelton and Christian.

Rey v JBL (intercontinental championship match)

JBL has been promising to do something historic at Wrestlemaina; I suspect this match was thrown together so that Rey and JBL could appear at Wrestlemaina. However on this historic part, there’s speculation that he would retire as the intercontinental champ, making him the first ever to do so. If this is really his last match, I would fully expect him to win.

The Colon’s v Miz and Morrison (tag title unification match)

I think this is a brilliant idea to unify the titles taking into account the current state of the tag division (what is there? 2-3 actually teams?) and these two teams have proven they can have a great match together. Give them plenty of time for a match, and we have a potential tag match of the year. However it’s hard to say who will win, but one could say wwe will go for the twist and give the colons a run. And with extreme rule’s ppv about three months away, I would savour the possibility of a TLC match.

Jericho V legends

Ok this was supposed to be a dream match featuring stone cold or hulk Hogan, hell maybe even flair but instead were getting a bunch of random legends thrown together with maybe Mickey Rourke interfering at some point. Hopefully there is some kind of twist involved in this. Anyway legends to win with a cheap pop. I am not looking forward to this.

25 diva battle royal

With returning diva’s in this match it should be a massive eye candy match. Anyway either Mickey or Trish will win this. Unless Maryse wins somehow.

Edge v Big Show v John Cena (world heavyweight championship match)

The build up to this has been entertaining at least but it doesn’t feel like a main event at Wrestlemaina. This feels like a build up to a ppv like No mercy or the Great American bash. Anyway the match itself should be entertaining at least due to the fact all three guys are great worker’s and they have all had great match’s with each other. The winner however is debated. Edge is set for some time off and Cena is due to stay on RAW, so I’m actually going to say that the Big Show is going to win. Vince wants’ RAW beefed up so Cena will stay there, and the WWE championship is likely to stay on RAW. So Big Show seems likely to take the gold.

Jeff hardy v Matt hardy (extreme rules)

One of two emotionally match’s of the night, this rivalry has been savouring since its very beginning. Drawn out by very real emotions this match could be forever a classic. However I would prefer to have then wrestled in a normal match first, and save the extreme rule’s for a rematch. But with the draft 2 weeks from Wrestlemaina, one of the Hardy’s could be sent to RAW. There are two paths’ this could go down, one Jeff win’s and it sends Matt into a absolute rage, with him wanting a rematch but Jeff declining yet and yet again. Or Matt could win finally proving to himself he was the better hardy, after the match he blow’s off a handshake with Jeff, and then stay’s on Smackdown while Jeff get’s drafted to RAW. But if it is true that RAW is getting beefed up, Jeff would be sent back into the mid card fiasco. Hopefully the first option goes ahead. Anyway Jeff to win while at the same time making Matt looking strong.

Triple H v Randy Orton (WWE championship match (possible change in stipulation))

A fresh approach on an old feud is always good for this match even though it’s happened countless times before hand. One could say this is the passing of the torch from Triple H to Randy. With legacy in the background (or evolution II as people have pointed out) should add some spice to the match. Randy should be the clear favourite to take the gold. If triple H retains I will blow a casket.

Shawn Michaels v Undertaker

Two words. Dream match

These two are the best worker’s in today’s wrestling business; it’s been over ten years since they have last faced off. And the last time they did, taker took Shawn out for over 4 years. It’s billed as Mr Wrestlemaina v the undefeated streak. If the streak was to end, I would be happy. This match is too close to call for me, but I’ll take a wild stab and say Taker to win, so that the streak can be broken by an up and coming.

Well those are my thoughts and predictions for the big daddy of them all.

Comment if you dare.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

MITB predict

Well it's about 3 or so weeks out so I'm going to go through each competior chances of winning the annual money in the bank, comment if you dare

Ok the order will be in least likly to most

Mark henry

Ok no offense to the guy, but he is just not championship material, he is more fit for the ecw title than anything, plus he isn't the best worker. expect him to topple over a ladder full of guys. oh and if he wins, god help us all

kane

He is already a former champion, plus he pefers to help the younger guys get a push. kane won't be a champion for awhile, expect one hell of a colthsline, and even wwe getting a shocker on us by making him win

cm punk

He whould of won this one, if it wern't for him winning last year. expect him to take a massive bump early on

Finlay

He's 5o years old, and hang's out with a midget, no offense to him, but he's better of entertaining the kids, plus there is no real long term investament in him regarding championship regin, though expect interference from good ole horny

Kofi

Here's a money maker

Most likly to play a huge part in the ladder match with his skill, and while the future seems bright for him, he's just not ready yet. I expect a huge move for him, maybe taking a massive bump in the process

Christain

Well even though vince don't like him, i would still post him a favorite, he is bound to win the championship at some point, let's see of he takes this and use's it against edge.

Shelton

ook I know he is in front of christian but for good reason

He is ready for that launch into main event, all he needs is better promo work, he proved he can work with the big guys. so now he just needs that final push

and my fave to win

MVP

Simply he is in line for that push, a babyface turn recently, he has a catchfrase and he has good soild in ring work. look for a high flying move from him

Well go ahead prove me wrong, but hey I was right about the rumble.

the dark side of hardy

After weeks of lackluster promo's and heat, the hardy boyz fude finally got good

After possible the best promo of his life last friday night, matt hardy finally drew not only the anger and hate of of jeff, but possible revealed his dark side

His promo was getting so close to the truth one has to belive if it was srcipted

It is possible that matt got off his cheast what he been wanting to say all his life. that he was always overlooked, never givin a great push, always the 'other half ' of the tag team, always just the other hardy. he has had the love of his life taken away from him, he's been reslied, had injury's and been jobber meat for an entire year. but he always looked up and never died

But you have to wonder what went through his mind when jeff got a much bigger push than him

Jeff the reckless younger borther who matt always had to look after, jeff who even though fail his drug policy twice was still givin a world title reign, was always more popular than him

And one whould have to think, that after all that, how matt can still play the supporting brother, and not be eaten away by jealosy

So after last friday night, matt opened his soul to the wwe fans, and brought out jeff's at the same time

The emtion behind both hardy's words were so close to the truth it was frighting.

Not only that but it brought out the truth that matt has been wanted to say for quite a while

And it possible revealed his demon within

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

ok I'm mad

let's get one thing straight

ill say it once and ill say it again

tna has lost it's way

there was a time where tna's talnet where all about workload and who could put on an outstanding match, although this was a time when all of it show's were ppv so givin credit there was no need for promo skills.

however ever since tna has got a 2 hour show, it just seems to me there a little bit lackluster in thier roster

sure they can boast the like's of kurt angle, sting, aj styles, jay lethal and soma joe. but slowly but surely I'm feeling less impressed every week.

the X devsion has really gone down. yes it still has quit a few good match's, but when was the last time you saw a new x disvsion talent(daveri dosne't count, why? because i said so!), and when was the last time you saw a number on conteder match for the title being an actually sinlges match? nowdays it seems to be one massive battle royal.

hell i could be wrong, which i probley am as i'm not using spell check

but the point of the matter is dixe carter is just looking for carsima nowdays instead of talent, combine that with the poor writeing team headed by vince russle, and you've got a infighting roster who has no moviatvion.

that's my poorly thought out view this week.

big show leaks the err show

well because I'm watching TV from Australia I missed the countdown show featuring the big show.

however if you caught it then you whould now know that indeed the world title match at wresltemaina will most likly be a triple treat featureing edge cena and the big show.

I'm all for it, edge can cena can work thier cemestry, with big show being added in to help edge retain without making cena look weak, show can easily recover.

wresltemaina match's

Well wresltemaina is coming about so it’s time to review potential match ups

Hardy v Hardy

Well hopefully this goes through with Wrestlemaina as they are set to battle each other this Friday. However this match can be easily overshadowed by some of the other match’s set to take place, 3 to be precise. This is sad giving how much emotion is in this feud and just how real it is. After all what matt said in his first promo after attacking Jeff was true. Let’s hope this match get’s the placement it deserves

Cena v Hogan (maybe if not cena will face edge)

Ok the Hogan rumers always appear around this time but it is being considered. For me really I don’t want to see this match. After hearing about the tapes between nick and hulk, hulkamaina kind of died for me, plus watching an old man take on a younger more up to date version of himself doesn’t really interest me.

Edge v big show

Well this should be a interesting match, I don’t think this will be placed to high up in the card if you ask me but it’s so far the best option out there.

Cena v edge

This is the match that will take place if Hogan pulls out. I like the idea of this one, edge and cena have always had classic matches and they deserve a Wrestlemaina match together.

Orton v triple h

Even those two have battle constantly over the last 5 years, a fresh spin on the top make’s a match between them worthwhile, these two may have not had the best match’s (I cannot recall a great one between them) but maybe the build up can compensate the workload, after all the build up sure helped rock v Hogan (workload that match was terrible! And what’s the big deal about Ricky v savage at Wrestlemaina 3? I’ve watched that match; it’s good but not great).

Shawn v taker

Ok this has potential to be the main event.
Just these two names together doesn’t require a build up, it simple reads classic. If taker streak were to end I’d be happy, it would be a classic match and a great way to end it. And who better than Mr. Wrestlemaina himself to end it. I just hope they roll with this one instead of Vladimir, after the chamber they simple cannot trust him with suck a high profile match, no disrespect to the guy, but I’m sure after a year he could do it.

Moeny in the bank

The best one to open, set the pace of the rest of the evening. I can’t say who will be in it, but it’s sure to be a classic, hey maybe dreamer would win?!
Swagger v Christian

It’s weird I had a dream that mvp took on Christian
Anyway I’m looking forward to this one these two could have one hell of a match

Ok here’s how i whould line the card up

Shawn v taker

Orton v triple h

Hardy v hardy

Cena v Hogan

Jerico v rourke

Edge v big show

Swagger v Christian

Divas match

Money in the bank

A title match should always be near the end of the show, if it doesn’t main event then whoever does has to put on a classic match that’s why I’ve rolled with taker and Shawn

Cena and Hogan would be the midway point so that’s the best place to put them, like Batista and taker in Wrestlemaina 23

The diva’s match can go after the money in the bank as it is the only match no one cares about, and seriously? It’s hard to follow the ladder match

Everything else is in order of build up and possible match quality.

Well that’s my blog for another week

NWO of here

well I can't say I watched the show as I was 'working'

however I can still react to it

so triple h won the chamber. I heard it was amzaing. and t set the scene for later. though I was hoping for edge to retain. I ended up getting my wish after all that

orton and shane match was booked wrong, sure it still could be booked like that but there's no need for shane to come out strong.

ecw, what do i say?

shawn won, kissed his wife, lost his smile, blah blah blah

nooo edge couldn't take out knox noo he had to take of kofi the exicting guy. it reminds me of ecw one and only ppv where sabu was taken out of the chamber and replaced by holly. that decsion made paul heyman leave. I wonder who got fired for yesterday's decsion

anyway shocking ppv so raw should be fun

· Did edge just say Vicky was the hottest girl in the chain? My god you’ve forgotten all about lita haven’t you
· Holy hell mega boo alert.
· I’m just waiting for Christian to show up. Still waiting. Oh what happened on ecw by the way?
· Wow Christians put on some weight, and he’s now called ‘the big show’ who does he think he is, the big show?
· Wait if every brand has to have a chamber match? How come ecw doesn’t have one? Is ecw that low of Vince’s radar it’s not even considered a brand?
· Fatal 4 way!....... all massive heavyweights... yah..
· Wait mvp and Chavo are going at again?
· So far a good match, but they could of gave chavo a proper match to give me him a chance
· Haha ballin
· Let’s hope Shelton and mvp get a Wrestlemaina match. It be good to restore prestige to the title.
· Yah my favourite promo. Elimination chamber promo.
· Hmm taker promo. Usually stuff. So good and creepy
· Hey I’m guessing one of the bella twins is evil. Kind of like Steph and Shane expect their not twins.
· Yep Miz and Morrison are going to win. Altho0ugh this should be a good match.
· Good match so far. Primo and Morrison had one hell of a move set going.
· I love it when I’m right
· Jeff drives a Ferrari? God I hate you now
· Ok moment of the night, the hardy’s finally meeting. This could be good.
· Oh god dam it the music is back. One of those promos
· That’s it? Wow the feeling of disappointment. Now I know how cyna and steph felt
· R truth taking up Jackson. Wow should be interesting, considering Jackson got the jobber entrance.
· Wow Chris masters must be throwing stuff around the room after how quickly truth got out of that full nelson
· Good match. I guess. Could be better
· Meh I never liked Hogan’s matches, i was even bored watching him take on the rock.
· Diva time. Thats all I can say
· This is really boring me
· Wow that was one hell of a fatal four way. And the finish was the best possible one with edge interfering.
· Well disappointing show, was expecting more from Jeff’s return but we can’t have it all

christain returns

Suffering suckertaks!

Christian made his wwe return last night by comforting swagger and challenging him for the belt of ecw. That’s right ecw, fucking ecw. The show that equals impact in the ratings.

After going on a swearing rampage in which the neighbour’s kids were severally scared for life, I began to see the silver lining in this

wwe made the right choice, Christian after all did leave them for tna so he wasn't going to come out on top on his return. another thing is that a feud with swagger could do ecw some good. it increase’s the ratings and it can actually give credit to swagger as well as restabilising Christian among the wwe fans. futhermore, ecw superstars have been known to appear on raw and Smackdown. but well it kind of gave away the ending to not one NWO match but two. one of course being the ECW title match but the second one

wait for it

world heavyweight champion match

why

because now Christian is out of the equation.

so now I have your attention here's my prediction (my god u didn't actually think I would keep going on about Christian did you? ha!)

anyway taker is already taken out as he I due for a feud with either Shawn or Vladimir, maybe triple h to, big show won't win it, Jeff hardy is feuding with matt so no, Vladimir won't take it to Wrestlemaina, so that leaves trips and edge. and I’m going with edge. why? because edge can screw hunter out which sets up for the rematch at Wrestlemaina.

anyway it's tricky to predict but that’s what I think

but as I said ecw superstars have been known to cross over to other brands.........

what makes a legend

After reading 'what makes a good worker' on http://slingshotsuplex.blogspot.com/ I decided to write a... well you can call it a response if you want, but I'm going to go with add on

Anyway after slingshot here pointed out what made a good worker, I feel there was more to cover

True he was right when he said that a good worker can get the crowd going and believe in the match, but a great worker should be able to let that match go down in history

Let’s take an example,

Owen hart isn’t on the same level of 'working' as Hogan, but in my opinion he had the better match with his brother at Wrestlemaina 10 than Hogan did with André at Wrestlemaina 3. Cm punk will never reach the same level as HHH but him and Morrison had one hell of a bout back in 2007 on ECW when punk won the title, compared to some lacklustre moments from triple h(ss series anyone?)

the point I'm making is, during the attuide era, more empathise on crowd reaction than actual wrestling ability were made in the wwe, which is why when asked about the greatest match's of all time, I recall those before that era and after that.

Sure stone cold could work the crowd into a frenzy and wrestle but he didn't have the ability of others who weren’t the greatest worker, the rock was great with a promo but some of his match's just felt lacklustre and repitive(kind of like someone we know today).

The fact of the matter is, a true legend, one of great immortally, is one who is a great worker and has a great wrestling ability.

Those including HBK, Brett hart, edge, rick flair, sting, Kurt angle and randy Orton (the voices in my head told me to write that).

Great workers such as Hogan, stone cold, rock, mankind, piper and Kevin Nash will always have those legendary match's, but in the end, they just don't compare to those listed above.

Well that's my view on legends

Prove me wrong

raw chamber predict

Well after not watching raw and instead read on rajah the two participants of the elimination chamber, I have decided once again to predict who will win the RAW elimination chamber two weeks out from no way out. So if I’m right (in which I will be or wrestlingblog.com is going to have some ‘technical difficulties‘yer I’m looking at you matt b!) it will be two PPV in a row in which I have predicted the main event, although looking at the Smackdown chamber compared to the RAW one, I’m having doubts that it will main event NWO

Anyway on with the blog
I’m going to break down each contestant on their odds and possible futures, remember the winner will probably be facing Randy Orton at Wrestlemaina
So here we go
Kane
Well even though he is a former world heavyweight champion (for one day) and ECW champion (after beating Chavo in 6 seconds) everyone knows Kane doesn’t have a chance in hell (excuse the pun). However Steph did put him in the chamber on promise that taker show’s up to beat the living.... hell out Orton. So he could make the perfect candidate for Shane and Steph to take their revenge on Orton.
Mike Knox
Even though he has had a big push lately, Knox simply isn’t championship material. Yet.
Kofi Kingston
Same story as Knox expect his style of wrestling should bring something special to this chamber. Should be a ball watching him. Watch for Kane to have some revenge by elimination him.
Rey
Ok I couldn’t spell his last name
Rey is slowly losing it as a potential champion contender, although he’ll always be considered in the top match’s. But just like Kofi he should bring something special to the chamber. Rey might be the money in the bank at Wrestlemaina 25 along with Kofi and maybe Knox
Jericho
If it weren’t for flair appearing next week on RAW I could see him winning. However expect him to ether face rourke (I know about him appearing at Wrestlemaina but the Oscars are before Wrestlemaina so therefore he could then screw Hollywood over and actually appear at the event) flair or stone cold. I haven’t been reading the spoilers on the matter so I don’t know the plans. Anyway Jericho won’t win
And that leaves one person
John Cena
He is the clear favourite going into this, not only because he could be facing Orton or the fact he could well be a the hit man of Shane and Steph, but there’s no one else in the Chamber who could take the strap, so I’m going to predict that Cena will retain.

Well that’s my predict for the Raw chamber.

oh on a fianl note a john made it clear to me that my spelling and grammer where shit, which they are but if you compare this to my old post they are getting better. one of the reasons for this blog was to improve my grammer so thanks for the heads up john.

smackdwon live thoughts

Smackdown live thoughts

· Very emotional opening from matt hardy, what was with the music? It made it seem like it wasn’t live. Anyway lot’s of emotion.
· What was the point of having r truth beat Kendrick 2 weeks in a row? It doesn’t do him any good with him going over so easy, and it does brain no favours either, maybe their trying to put over the fact brain can’t win without Jackson
· Good match so far from MVP and chavo, the crowd didn’t catch on that MVP was a babyface until halfway down the ramp. Although it would of seemed like a better match if chavo got an actual entrance. Brain got one!
· Ok not sure what kind of promo that was from MVP I’m deciding some sort of babyface with his catchphrase ballin!
· Woh umagas back, and that promo made him look like a killer, so twp match’s in a row that the winner is basically known before hand great work freedy.
· Triple threat tonight looks like a pile of shit. Kahli will go over with triple h taking on Vladimir at no way out, Vladimir is the poster boy for that ppv after all
· Undertaker v Henry, wow that looks like a real thriller.
· They cracked out that old elimination promo, with a few knew clips added in from last year, it cannot get old for me, it’s one of those promos which say awesome!
· Umagas got new music, prefer the old one, and why is the crowd cheering him? Isn’t he about to murder someone?
· Just had a thought, most the usually suspects won’t be in the smackdown chamber, so I’m going to assume that wwe are going to give 3 up and coming guys a go. Maybe carltio will get a turn, but i have a strange feeling Morrison will be a part of a least one chamber.
· Well nice knowing you jimmy, although either the people really hate you, or this crowd is backwards cose they were cheering for umaga dude.
· On second thought umaga’s new music is kind of evil. Just like his character, maybe he’ll be included in the chamber.
· Well takers coming out now, oooh I wonder who will win.
· Hang on the jr mentioned what happened at the rumble when taker took out big show, then show came back to take taker out, I’m have a feeling of interfence. God I hope not.
· Why is Henry getting a chance anyway? Isn’t he on ecw? So then what was the point of matt leaving ecw to go to smackdown?
· Typical match between them. Boring.
· Maybe Henry could so Hogan how to jump in a chokslam? Oh and taker won btw. Ok we have edge, taker, and either kahli valdmir or trips. Big show will be apart of it so I’m going to completely disgraud my old statement. Now I don’t know who will win. Although it will be interesting to see who will go over and if it will be right. Kahli would be terrible, triple h would be a good choice, and Vladimir is still being pushed.
· A rourke promo? Hmmm should be interesting if it is still going to be on
· Vicky is getting the usually reaction, same with edge. Should once again be a good promo
· Hang another thought, what if they had a mystery person in the chamber? Or they took out someone before hand? And that person was replaced, by a returning superstar....
· Well here comes the show, I’m confused is he a heel of face? MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!
· Oh god show held Vicky, oh god if this turns out to be a cheating angle (again) it’s going to be disgusting.
· Oh man how cool would it be for fetus to be in the chamber? He would destroy everyone, it would be a moment
· Ha told you show would be in it. And I wrote it before he came out. Knockout punch and fetus is back in the dog house.
· Ok show and taker r in the chamber, they need an average size guy to balance things out, so kahli is out, although I could be wrong. I’m going to lean towards Vladimir. That way he can start a feud with taker, although it was rumoured for taker to take on Shawn.
· Ha eve bitch slapped McCool, although they could of shown the entire promo.
· Triple threat time, still think it will be shit but you never know.
· Raw rebound featuring Orton. Decent promo, still makes Orton look weak
· Juxtaposed Shane with triple h then. I can’t help but laugh
· Wow jr used that same line at the rumble ‘from India to Russia’
· And now one guy stays on the outside for a while and waits his turn. Vladimir was the first out onto the ground. Vladimir and triple h actually showing some fight.
· Wow Vladimir is owning tri... ok as soon as I said that triple h comes back, wait Vladimir is back, and i should note the tazz said Vladimir was undefeated in singles completion. Singles.
· And triple h heads to no way out. Good ending. Vladimir didn’t get pinned and no one cares about kahli.
· Overall poor show, no diva action, no maryse, no tag team action, but to be fair it was the first taping of the night, the second tapings r usually much better. But again no maryse!
· Well thats all folks

delliotts royal review

By god I love it when I’m right

Two weeks ago I predicted the winner of the royal rumble, I didn't wait till the day before like so many other people, I said there and then

And I was right

So bask in my new found glory, bask in it dam it!

Anyway I did catch the rumble and here are my thoughts on each match/promo

Swagger v Matt

This was a good opening bout very solid and good work from swagger, it was a predictable match but matt expression afterwards said it all

Melina v Beth

This was actually a good divas match, although short it had a lot of high spots included one hell of an armbar from Melina. I was expecting Rosa to interfere but we can't have it all. I still think santino had the line of raw when he said “can we keep her?". Anyway it congrats to Melina for the new belt, even though she won't keep it for long.

Cena V JBL/Shawn

This was a storyline bout, the whole time you were glued to what Shawn was going to do and in the end his superkick to both superstars sealed the deal, and he continued the story by placing jbl on cena. Although now I see why so many people hate cena, he's a guy that just seems like he can't win, and then pulls out an amazing comeback.

Jeff V edge

The change to a no DQ was interesting and lead to one hell of a dive from Jeff onto chavo seated on a table, although the ladder fell and Jeff landed on his head, they continued. The whole match from the start begged inference, so when Vicky interfered we knew he wasn't going to win. Moreover when matt came down to 'help' his brother we all knew what was coming. The priceless facial expression from matt was billerent. Matt v Jeff should be one hell of a feud.

The royal rumble

Compared to last year it was a bit of a let down, it was predictable that that Orton was going to win from the promos but it still was interesting for him to come in at 9. There were nice surprises such as hacksaw, and my favorite R V fn D! sanitno had the line of the night, after lasting one sec, he went on to say "I wasn't ready yet!" lol good times, anyway Vladimir eliminating kahli was good, MVP got a nice reaction "ballin!" caltio hit one hell of a moonsalult onto Morrison, and it looks like another bug show taker feud again.

on a last note I should point out during the Shawn taker conformation, taker said it was hell getting to heaven, I should point out that taker was the reason Shawn’s was out for 4 years, in 2007 they were the last 2 in the ring, and last year they were the first 2. wresltemina anyone?
well that all from me

delliotta on the case!

Every once in a while come's a mystery to be solved, and the Jeff hardy black cloud means only one thing,

Zombies

Or more likely a mysterious attacker who has a grudge against him.

Let’s roll with that

Anyway a couple of things have set of an alarm in my head.

First was that matt hardy lost his ecw title on Tuesday, and much like the story with the us title it frees matt up for a new title run, such as the wwe title....

Second was that the tna president confirmed Christian cages departure to the wwe, and we all know his relationship with edge

Thirdly was simply the fact that edge alluded to a black could which was then followed by fireworks exploding in Jeffs face. Yer that so pg friendly what next a limo blowing up! Oh really? Oh... well ... lets contuine

So the question in this whodunit case is, is it matt or Christian?

Both have motives, matt always being the less popular and he was always the smarter brother, yet Jeff does the drugs and he gets cheered
Christian simply being edges’ friend and doing him a favor, taking out the competion.
But I hope it's matt, a feud between them and a match at wresltemina is long overdue.
And that my thoughts

On another note I’m sadden to see that this will be Tommy dreamer will be hanging up the gears this year, it’s been a long and hard career. Good luck to him

That all folks Delliott out!

royal rumble!

It’s that time of year… where titles rarely change hands and storylines are set up for the big daddy of them all

I’m talking about backlash

Jokes we all knew I meant wresltemaina (or did u?)
Anyway ill get right to the chase, I’m saying right now at this point in time that randy Orton will win the 2009 royal rumble

go ahead prove me wrong, he is simply the hottest thing on RAW, on the most recent RAW he was involved with not one, not two, but three angle, legacy, Kelly and the world title hunt
If legacy actually ends up going ahead we could see two things. One a babyface face avenging team of sim sunka and that fat soman guy taking on legacy as it remains. Or more likely it will be an evolution style main event at wresltemina with randy taking on cena with of course a gimmick involved with it. They have wrestled so many times over the last 2 years you couldn’t repeat it.

furthermore Orton has come so far with his promo’s his just down right cool when he delivers them, top them off with his sleeves tattoos and ‘voices’ theme music and we have possible face. And I mean stone cold type. The bad ass type. The same type which attracts those fans who boo people like cena. The older generation.

Having cena take on Orton at wresltmaina could set up the ultimate double turn. Although when cena does turn I would expect a hulk Hogan style with him betraying a friend. In turn ‘creating contravsy’. Although the ‘legacy’ could betray Orton in turn getting behind cena, helping the face push.

However this is unlikely once again. In interviews Orton said he hated being a babyface. While he wouldn’t necessary be one. It might not appeal to him

Still I do believe Orton while take on cena at wresltemaina. Disagree with me or not, Orton is here to stay, and the only other person that I could see winning the rumble would be HBK. But that’s another blog

For now I leave it

new year a new hope

Well as a faithful watcher of wrestling I have always noticed when something has gone to waste,
I talk about of course TNA. Over the past several months TNA has had potential to create something new, fresh and exciting. Instead we see the same TV every week that is simply wwe 2. Tna are obsessed with becoming like wwe. they don't try to be an alternative, their characters are slight rip offs of the wwe versions(jay lethal randy savage) and every week we see guys lose but still be on top, and see guys win and be placed at the bottom! The crowd is underactive to the heels and faces, and with the unlimited amount of talent tna have no excuse not to be a top.
But it is simply, the recent frontline main event mafia storyline speaks for itself. World champions who refuse to give up the spotlight, the new generation of guys vying for that. (although one could point out that aj styles and Joe are not the future, rather the now) the point of the matter is tna relies so heavily on one main storyline the devoplment falls through the cracks, and when something good comes along they waste it!
Take example their broadcast in vages, a new ring which made the matches seem ppv like, and top it off with outstanding performances it looked like tna was (pun) bound for glory. However they returns to the standard ring again which sounds like crap, and their matches became self centered again.
And the main problem? The commentary
Their terrible, and every time we see a good match they ruin I by simply talking over the top of it, it’s like their reading of a script! (Well they are and so are the wwe guys but they made it seem like their not) not to mention they contuliys plug the main event in every match instead of calling the match that is going on right there.
Anyway the point of the matter is that tna does have hope, and hopefully they change for the better. They can start by firing Vince russle.
