wresltemaina prediction

Well as Wrestlemaina is made official we come to ponder who will be taking a win on the grandest stage of them all. And while only Vince knows the answer to that, I’ll have some fun by making my own predictions.

Let’s count down from the card

MITB

Well I already posted a blog about this but in shot MVP to win followed by Shelton and Christian.

Rey v JBL (intercontinental championship match)

JBL has been promising to do something historic at Wrestlemaina; I suspect this match was thrown together so that Rey and JBL could appear at Wrestlemaina. However on this historic part, there’s speculation that he would retire as the intercontinental champ, making him the first ever to do so. If this is really his last match, I would fully expect him to win.

The Colon’s v Miz and Morrison (tag title unification match)

I think this is a brilliant idea to unify the titles taking into account the current state of the tag division (what is there? 2-3 actually teams?) and these two teams have proven they can have a great match together. Give them plenty of time for a match, and we have a potential tag match of the year. However it’s hard to say who will win, but one could say wwe will go for the twist and give the colons a run. And with extreme rule’s ppv about three months away, I would savour the possibility of a TLC match.

Jericho V legends

Ok this was supposed to be a dream match featuring stone cold or hulk Hogan, hell maybe even flair but instead were getting a bunch of random legends thrown together with maybe Mickey Rourke interfering at some point. Hopefully there is some kind of twist involved in this. Anyway legends to win with a cheap pop. I am not looking forward to this.

25 diva battle royal

With returning diva’s in this match it should be a massive eye candy match. Anyway either Mickey or Trish will win this. Unless Maryse wins somehow.

Edge v Big Show v John Cena (world heavyweight championship match)

The build up to this has been entertaining at least but it doesn’t feel like a main event at Wrestlemaina. This feels like a build up to a ppv like No mercy or the Great American bash. Anyway the match itself should be entertaining at least due to the fact all three guys are great worker’s and they have all had great match’s with each other. The winner however is debated. Edge is set for some time off and Cena is due to stay on RAW, so I’m actually going to say that the Big Show is going to win. Vince wants’ RAW beefed up so Cena will stay there, and the WWE championship is likely to stay on RAW. So Big Show seems likely to take the gold.

Jeff hardy v Matt hardy (extreme rules)

One of two emotionally match’s of the night, this rivalry has been savouring since its very beginning. Drawn out by very real emotions this match could be forever a classic. However I would prefer to have then wrestled in a normal match first, and save the extreme rule’s for a rematch. But with the draft 2 weeks from Wrestlemaina, one of the Hardy’s could be sent to RAW. There are two paths’ this could go down, one Jeff win’s and it sends Matt into a absolute rage, with him wanting a rematch but Jeff declining yet and yet again. Or Matt could win finally proving to himself he was the better hardy, after the match he blow’s off a handshake with Jeff, and then stay’s on Smackdown while Jeff get’s drafted to RAW. But if it is true that RAW is getting beefed up, Jeff would be sent back into the mid card fiasco. Hopefully the first option goes ahead. Anyway Jeff to win while at the same time making Matt looking strong.

Triple H v Randy Orton (WWE championship match (possible change in stipulation))

A fresh approach on an old feud is always good for this match even though it’s happened countless times before hand. One could say this is the passing of the torch from Triple H to Randy. With legacy in the background (or evolution II as people have pointed out) should add some spice to the match. Randy should be the clear favourite to take the gold. If triple H retains I will blow a casket.

Shawn Michaels v Undertaker

Two words. Dream match

These two are the best worker’s in today’s wrestling business; it’s been over ten years since they have last faced off. And the last time they did, taker took Shawn out for over 4 years. It’s billed as Mr Wrestlemaina v the undefeated streak. If the streak was to end, I would be happy. This match is too close to call for me, but I’ll take a wild stab and say Taker to win, so that the streak can be broken by an up and coming.

Well those are my thoughts and predictions for the big daddy of them all.

Comment if you dare.
